Google released annual search report, WFH Job and e-courses most searches

  • The report shows a 140% growth in “work from home jobs” searches from across India in 2020.

Search engine Google has released the annual report ‘Year in Search’ for the year 2020 search. It has been reported in the report that during the lockdown imposed due to Coronavirus epidemic last year, the most work from home job and online course in India was searched by users. Let’s know what else has been searched the most.

Sanjay Gupta, Country Head, and VP, Google India said that this has led to massive changes in consumer behavior as well as how digital is becoming central to businesses.

According to Google’s report, in the search for work from home jobs in the year 2020, 140 percent growth was observed from the year 2019. At the same time, an increase of 85 percent was seen in the search for online courses. Apart from this, there was a 50 percent growth in the search for certificate courses. Not only this, how to sell goods online, this search saw a 65 percent increase.

Google said that with four in five people coming to YouTube to learn something new, there were searches for career progression, upskilling, entrepreneurship, and supplementary income.

Google said that this “Learning anything, anywhere” is one of the key changes in user behaviour in 2020 according to search trends spanning Search and YouTube.

If you talk about cities searching for work from home job, then it was most searched in Meera Bhayander city of Maharashtra. Apart from this, Work from Home was the most searched in Secunderabad, Thane, Hyderabad, Pimpri Chinchwad, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru, Navi Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Mysore.

In March last year, the central government put a lockdown on the entire country to stop the coronavirus epidemic. Because of which lakhs of people did work from home. Thousands of people became unemployed due to this lockdown. Because of this, there was a huge growth in the work from home search.
